16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Stand with Women and Children

November 25 – December 10 marks the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign to raise awareness and inspire action to end violence against women and their children. At Dixon Transition Society, we believe that every woman and child deserves safety, dignity, and a life free from abuse.

Why It Matters

Violence against women is one of the most pervasive human rights violations worldwide. It affects families, communities, and generations. The 16 Days campaign reminds us that change begins with awareness and collective action.

Join Us in Taking Action

Here’s how you can participate during the 16 Days:

  • November 25 – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
  •  Wear purple to show your support and share your photo with the hashtag #16Days #EndViolence #DixonTransitionSociety
  • December 6 – National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Honour the victims of the Polytechnique Montréal tragedy by wearing a white ribbon and reflecting on how we can prevent gender-based violence.

  • December 10 – Human Rights Day

Read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and share why human rights matter for women and children.
