Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Purple Thursday at Dixon Transition Society

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we came together as a community to reflect, connect, and take a stand against gender-based violence. Our Purple Day event was a powerful reminder of the importance of collective action in creating safer spaces for women and children.

We were deeply honored to welcome Katrina Chen as our guest speaker. Her insights, warmth, and advocacy left a lasting impact — and her book is truly inspiring. In a beautiful act of generosity, Katrina donated copies of her book, helping us raise funds to support women and children in transition.

Thank you, Katrina, for your voice and your heart.

As part of the event, we asked our staff: “What does taking a stand against domestic violence mean to you?”

Now, we ask you: What does taking a stand against domestic violence mean to you?

Share your thoughts with your network — let’s keep the conversation going and the awareness growing.
