Message from Board Chair, Anita Webster

Dixon Transition Society is thrilled to present our 9th Annual Christmas Fundraiser! This Silent Auction features a variety of exciting and highly valuable bundles you wouldn’t want to miss out on! Bidding is open now, until midnight, Dec 14th! Want to get involved in more ways than one? Test your luck by purchasing tickets for our 50/50 Raffle Draw ($10 for 5 entries/$25 for 15 entries)!

All proceeds raised from the Silent Auction and Raffle Draw go to Dixon House—our 10-bed emergency shelter for women and children fleeing violence. This transition house is staffed 24/7 by our trained and compassionate staff who provide practical and emotional support for the women and their children. While at the house, women have access to food, clothing, basic personal and household supplies, workshops, counselling, and so on, all at no cost.

Please note that in light of the increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases and the announcement made by Dr. Bonnie Henry, Provincial Health Officer on Thursday, Nov 19th, outlining the new restrictions and recommendations aimed at getting the spread of the pandemic back under control, we are unable to host our Christmas Jazz Concert at this time (click for more details). However, we are happy to be able to continue with our online Silent Auction! The women we serve are in need of your help, now more than ever; your contributions help us give them the support and resources they need to battle the effects of this pandemic.

A special thank you to:

  • Our very generous sponsors and donors, who make it possible for Dixon to continue to provide support and services to women and children fleeing domestic violence

We acknowledge that this event, and our work at Dixon Transition Society, takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

When you make a donation to Dixon Transition Society…

  • You make it possible for women and children to find safety at Dixon, as well as the excellent support services offered by our experienced staff.
  • You enable a continuum of care beyond temporary housing so that women’s success can be sustained.
  • You show women that you believe in them and their right to be safe. You show women that you want them to have every opportunity to build a healthy, thriving life free from violence.
